There are many ways you can support the St George Foundation:

SBI - Small Business Initiative

Many families have lost their breadwinner to Ebola. Family sizes have increased as they care for further children orphaned by Ebola.

We have established a Small Business Initiative (SBI) where we help families set up their own businesses.

The St George Foundation identified 606 families who were considered extremely vulnerable and it was agreed that we would help these families by supporting them through our Small Business Initiative (SBI) starting with those considered to be the most vulnerable.

Our pilot intake of 30 families, all affected by Ebola, have now been trained in basic accounting business skills and we have a range of occupations from growing cassavas, to wood & charcoal selling to mechanics.

Many families are still in need and we hope to continue raising funds for this very worthy programme which enables families to create an income and become self-sufficient.

It costs just £75 to train, equip and fund a family through our Business Scheme, supporting them in becoming self-sufficient for the future.

A St George Foundation social worker is seen here providing funds to one of the caregivers involved in the scheme.

Schools

We rescue orphaned children in Sierra Leone and fund them through their education at primary/secondary school and university level. We welcome the opportunity to partner with schools that wish to fundraise for these children.

As a smaller organisation, we can provide teachers and students with real time updates and communication from our pupils and their schools in Sierra Leone. We focus on building partnerships which are mutually beneficial.

We will support you and your school, college or university throughout the partnership, providing innovative ideas to engage your employees and clients and to promote the partnership.
